    Backrooms 2026

While Chiwetel Ejiofor felt that the backrooms sensed the need Clark had for it and vice versa, Kane Parsons intends that the backrooms doesn’t choose anyone at all. I still think it’s nice, in a way, to think of how human it is to ascribe meaning to coincidence. To randomness. I never believed in fate, but to make something out of nothing is what assigning meaning is, right? A human application to an apathetic, indifferent thing. An act of creation and building. One thing that the failed architect achieved to build instead of destroy.

    Disorganized Exercise Notes

    • physical stimulation gives energy
      • increases stamina
      • see: college years where I exercised almost every day and kept up with a large workload
      • office workers feel tired, physical therapists and handy workers feel energized despite moving a lot
    • people with a lifestyle of constant movement despite not exercising the recommended amount per week were healthier than those who did not but frequently idled outside of that
    • there is no minimum exercise to get benefits

    Ricotta Choc Chip Dip

    Mix all:

    • 1/4 cup ricotta (part-skim is healthier)
    • 1/2 tsp maple syrup (or honey, or 1 tbsp powdered sugar)
    • dark choc chip (however much you want)

Use strawberries or mini cookies to dip

    The limit of studies

But this is like a danger and a trap–kind of living off of an abstract. A lot of things in small studies don’t actually translate to the real world […] You can’t underestimate the value of, like, personal experience when that vastly outnumbers the small study that is available.

    – Dr. Maxfield

Dr. Maxfield and Dr. Shah talk more about their experiences with treating hundreds of patients and the results they get versus the results smaller scale laboratory-limited studies get in the linked video above. It helps illustrate how studies should not be the sole results to consider when doing personal research. It’s tempting to completely dismiss personal anecdotes altogether in favor of scientific studies, but this overlooks the limits that scientific studies are often prey to.
