    Dermatologist’s Acne Treatment

    from my consultation

this is given with the context that i had acne for more than a year

    • reduce carbs (rice, juice, even fruits, no sweets, sugar), soy, whey, any tea, seafood (iodine), dairy
    • avoid b12, b6, E vitamins
    • sleep (don’t stay up or strain yourself)
    • avoid heat, sunlight (creates spots on the skin), wear sunblock
      • sunblock indoors because of gadgets (blue light)
      • sunblock to neck (even skintone)
      • sunglasses (eyes, gadgets) (not skin related but eh, she told me)
    • tissue in mask (4hr), light color mask
    • non flouridated toothpaste (white only, no gel, no stripes)
    • only dab sweat, not wipe (removes the medicine on the face)
    • no cologne (after 10 mins on clothes if yes), darkens spots on the face due to heat/sun
    • tea tree soap 1-2 mins bubble, then wash off
    • shampoo: only johnson&johnson, sunsilk (basically avoid harsh chemicals)
    • no erythromyocin (medication given is stronger)

For swimming, only do for PM
    1 thin layer for medications

Antibiotic (doxycycline) is to help with when you stay up late

    medication prescribed

    oral

    • biretix (every morning)
      • for smaller pimples
      • can use up to a year
    • doxycycline (i forgot the frequency, may also be daily)
      • for larger pimples (stop use once gone)

    topical (morning & night)

    1. tea tree soap (facewash)
    2. acne clarifying toner (lab46 skincare brand)
    3. bc lotion (moisturizer)
      • i assume deeper-moisturizing because this was prescribed after i told my dermatologist that sometimes i find my skin dry even after putting on moisturizer
    4. acne gel
    5. clear gel
    6. azelaic acid
    7. sunscreen
